DescriptionAccording to the WHO report in Nigeria, there are over 8,000 deaths related to cervical cancer each year and these figures are on the increase.

Every two minutes a woman dies of cervical cancer worldwide. Cervical Cancer is the second most common cancer affecting women world wide accounting for about 10% of all cancers. Every woman is at risk of this whatever the age.

Breast cancer affects one in eight women during their lives. Breast cancer kills more women in Nigeria than any cancer except Cervical Cancer which is the second.

Stand Up To Cancer Naija with it's partners will be conducting a mass breast and Cervical cancer screening, in Abuja on the 22nd-24th of April 2010. Over 1,500 women will be screened in this mass screening exercise.
